FENCE PAINTING SERVICES

When you picture your dream home, does it have a white picket fence? It has become somewhat of an American dream – a little suburban house with a white fence that gives the outdoors a charming look and clearly says home. Such a fence is perfect for traditionally built houses and newer, more modern houses as well. When you’re going around the neighborhood, what kind of house catches your eye? We’re pretty sure you’ll most likely notice the houses with the classic white picket fence. While we aren’t suggesting you have to go with this style, the point is that having a well maintained fence makes your yard and your home look so much better.

Painting your fence can easily increase your curb appeal value. Not only does it instantly refresh the look of your home, but it can also help to extend the lifetime of your fence. If you’re looking for a new look, but aren’t ready to paint the entire exterior of your home, painting your fence is a great way to update your outdoor space on a friendly budget.

Selecting paint is a very personal choice for most people. Many factors need to be considered when it comes to selecting the color for your project. So many colors of paint available, choosing a color can feel like an impossible task. At Brush House we work with our customers to help them find the best paint for the job. This usually it starts with a number of questions.

• What area do you want to be painted?

• How visible is the area you want to be painted?

• How is the area used?

• Do you have small children or pets?

We've not yet gotten to color, but these questions can help us determine the needed quality and sheen for your home. Homeowners will often want to have a higher quality paint used in a room more frequently visited by others, like the living room, than they will want to use in a child's bedroom. We'll take that into account.

That brings us to what is most often the challenging part when selecting paint for a home - choosing the color. Again, we'll ask some questions:

• What type of style is your house, or do you want it to be? Traditional, contemporary, modern, farmhouse?

• What is your overall preference for paint - warm, cool, other?

• How will the area to be painted tie in to the rest of your home?

• Do you have a focal point for the room that you want to complement?

• Do you want to stay on trend? Would you prefer your home to look timeless, or to match up to a specific style?

These are just some of the many questions that you'll want to ask yourself when you are considering color for house painting projects. We can say that most customers end up being most happy when they factor in the feeling they are trying to create throughout the house instead of just picking a color they like for one room. It can be easy for homeowners to fall into the current trend.

This can be fine if the trend is likely to hold up or if the homeowner doesn't mind painting their home every couple of years. Other customers will be focused on keeping within the style of their home or creating a timeless look that will hold up over many years.

Ultimately, you'll want to pick a color that works for you. Unless, of course, your purpose for painting is to sell the home or rent out the space. There are many, many resources for you to look at when considering how to select paint - here are a few good ones:

Monochromatic colors: are one hue, varied in saturation and value. For example, a pale red, paired with dark red and a pure red.

Analogous colors: are a combination of up to three similar colors. For example, yellow, orange-yellow, and orange.

Complementary colors: are based on contrasting colors and often include both warm and cool colors. The high contrast of complementary colors often creates a vibrant look, especially when used at full saturation. For example, yellows and blues

Sheen

Sheen is a measure of the reflected light (glossiness) from a paint finish. Glossy and flat (or matte) are typical extreme levels of glossiness of a finish. Glossy paints are shiny and reflect most light in the specular  direction, while on flat paints most of the light diffuses in a range of angles. The gloss level of paint can also affect its apparent color. Between those extremes, there are a number of intermediate gloss levels. Their common names, from the most dull to the most shiny, include matte, eggshell, satin, silk, semi-gloss and high gloss. These terms are not standardized, and not all manufacturers use all these terms.

FIVE POINT APPROACH

We apply a five-point approach to every painting project that we accept. While each point is a reason in itself to choose us as your residential or commercial painting contractor, taken together we believe these five points set us apart in the painting industry. The five points include: price, preparation, products, process, and promise.

FIVE POINTS 1.jpg
PRICE.jpg

PRICE

“Competitive Pricing, Straightforward prices, no surprises”

We provide free, competitive, fixed-price estimates. Our up-front, honest, transparent pricing will help you budget without any surprises. During our preliminary inspection, we will point out any surface defects and underlying problems that may need to be addressed before the paint goes on, to ensure the kind of long-lasting result you expect. Our estimates are always inclusive of all work that will need to be done and include a fixed price that will never fluctuate.

PREPARATION

“careful, thorough surface preparation”

Careful surface preparation is key for a successful paint job! At the start of every project, our painters carefully clean and repair all wall surfaces that need to be updated, before starting to paint. We caulk and patch surfaces, repair cracks and interior drywall, remove rust, and power wash all surfaces if needed.

PRODUCTS

“We always use top quality paint”

We use only top-quality paint (Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams) that will give your home or building a beautiful, long-lasting finish that you can be proud of. Top-quality paints cost more, but we back our work 100% with our lifetime warranty, and inexpensive paint isn’t worth the investment for us. You wouldn’t be satisfied with cheap paint, and neither are we.

PROCESS

“We respect you, your time, and your property”

We respect you, your time, and your property. Our painting professionals are courteous, well-mannered, and careful to wear protective booties in clean areas to protect your property. We store our paint and materials in a trailer during the job, not on your property, and when we leave, we clean up after ourselves and remove all trash.
